Hello, I’m Finn, or ‘Yixist’, a storyteller and ARTIST based in AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND.

I currently work full time as an illustrator and visual designer, but am also available for freelance and commission work.

I dabble in everything from character design and commercial illustration, to prop and model-making, to fiction and copy-writing, all for the purposes of creating living and breathing worlds and stories.

I graduated from Massey University in 2018 with a BDes (Hons), and have been freelancing for some years, in between working other jobs. More recently I was awarded the Japanese Government MEXT Postgraduate Research Scholarship and selected to live and study Manga in Japan, where I spent two years living in Kyoto and attending Kyoto Seika University studying under a Manga master.

As both part of my work and for personal interest, I am fascinated by pop culture, art, history, science and literature. Particularly, I have a great passion for technology (can’t beat a good robot) and biology, and love to explore speculative evolution and imaginative morphology in my drawings.
